What are the museum rules?

No food or drink, including water, is allowed in the museum. Beverage containers, even if empty, are not allowed inside the museum. Sports equipment is not allowed inside the museum. A limited number of lockers (storage cubbies) are available free of charge.

Large bags, luggage, bikes, and recreational scooters are not permitted in the museum. There is no space to store these items- please plan to leave these at home.

Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed in the museum. See Accessibility for information about service animals.

Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.

Where can I report problems in Centennial Park or the Parthenon?

Hub Nashville is the best place to report problems such as trash in the park, unpermitted music, solicitation, illegal parking, etc. You can also ask to speak to a Manager at the Parthenon or call Metro Parks at 615-862-8400.

Where can I report great experiences in Centennial Park or the Parthenon?

Are masks required inside the Parthenon?

Face coverings are encouraged for all Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation facilities, including the Parthenon.

Do I need to purchase admission in advance?

Tickets can only be purchased on-site at the Ticket Counter or in the Museum Store. If there is a line to purchase admission, normally the line moves quickly and is no longer than a 10-15 minute wait. On busy days, the line can extend outside the building, rain or shine.

When is the Parthenon open?

The most up-to-date hours are listed on the Hours & Admission page. The Parthenon is generally open Monday through Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM and Sundays from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM. The Parthenon is located in Centennial Park, Nashville, Tennessee, near West End Avenue and 27th Avenue North. The closest available address is:

Can I take pictures inside the museum?

Photography is welcome in the museum, with the exception of one display case in the Centennial Gallery; this case is labelled with a sign stating that photography is not permitted. Visitors are encouraged to use the hashtag #NashvilleParthenon and tag us on social media: @NashvilleParthenon (Facebook & Instagram), @NashParthenon (Twitter), @CentennialPark, and @Nashville_Parks.

How long does it take to tour the Parthenon?

On average, typical visitor spends 60 minutes in the museum. Some visitors spend 15 - 30 minutes, while others spend a few hours in the museum and Centennial Park.

Will I have a tour guide?

Visits to the Parthenon are self-guided. Free brochures with a museum map are available to help you explore.

Museum Docents (volunteers) and staff conduct free gallery programs and tours throughout the day. Browse our Calendar and Programs pages to find out about daily, weekly, and monthly programs, or ask about Art Cart, Architecture Tours, and Museum Tours at the Ticket Counter when purchasing museum admission.

Guided tours are available with advance registration for groups of 10 or more people. See more information about tours.

Can I bring a group or students on a field trip?

Adult groups and student groups may not enter the museum without a reservation made at least 30 days in advance. If you have a group of 10 or more, see Field Trips & Group Visits and scroll down to complete a Field Trip Request Form or Group Trip Request Form. Can I rent the Parthenon for a special event like a business meeting or a wedding reception?
