DONATE

Please join the Centennial Park Conservancy in caring for this 100-year-old building as well as underwriting annual educational programming and cultural arts exhibitions.

By making a donation to the Parthenon via the nonprofit Centennial Park Conservancy, you are supporting the historic centerpiece of our city and partnering to ensure the Parthenon continues as a vital cultural and educational landmark.

The Wesley Paine Internship FUND

The Wesley Paine Internship is a newly created paid internship at the Parthenon that will recruit, develop and educate museum professionals from all backgrounds with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and representation. Paid internships create a pipeline for emerging professionals and ensures that future museum leadership reflects the rich demographics of our community.

GIVING THROUGH IRA or tax-deferred accountS

If you are 70-1/2 or older, you can use your IRA or other tax-deferred account to your tax advantage while simultaneously supporting Centennial Park Conservancy. If you are age 70-1/2 or older, IRS rules require you to take a required minimum distribution (RMD) from this type of retirement account. This RMD withdrawal is taxable income and can result in pushing you into a higher tax bracket. However, you can mitigate this tax burden by donating your RMD to Centennial Park Conservancy. Rules require the donation to be made by the account custodian directly to Centennial Park Conservancy. The funds cannot be withdrawn and paid to you with a subsequent donation to us. This crafty tax strategy allows you to fulfill your philanthropic wishes, support Centennial Park Conservancy and lessen your taxes all at once. This exemption from taxation is limited up to $100,000 of your RMD. If you are interested in using your retirement funds with this little-known tax tip, please contact your financial advisor. We are also here to help. Please call Wendy Buntin for further information, wendy@conservancyonline.com or 615-862-6810.
